CEDIPOD - Documentation and Information Center for the Disabled People - is a non-profit ONG, created (1990) to help filling the lack of an organization devoted to gather, organize and divulge information on Disabled People.

Our work is oriented to the production of informative papers for organizations of disabled persons and for the society in general.

At first, our main field of work will be: Laws (Civil rights), Elimination of architectural barriers, Transport and Communication.

Our aim is to provide organizations and society with information, thus collaborating in the process of awarenesss and promoting full participation and equal opportunities.

We have in our data bank a list of addresses of organizations in Brazil and in Latin America; a list of laws regarding disabled persons in our Federal Constitution, in the Constitution of the State of São Paulo; in the Law of the City of São Paulo, Lei 7853 (Lei da CORDE), as well as Federal body of Laws, and of State of São Paulo and of the City of São Paulo. We published the folder "When you meet a disabled person", about how to assist people with different sorts of Disabilities. We have also published the translation in Portuguese of "World Programme of Action concerning Disabled Persons" a paper approved by the Assembly of the United Nations. Since 1994 , we are full members of the Brazilian Committee of Circulation and Transport - CB-16 da ABNT - (Brazilian Association de Technical Norms (Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas), to establish the norms concerning adaptation of city buses, subways, trains, planes, highway buses and adapted cars.
